What Makes a Good Impact Screen

The fabric decides how your simulator feels

Projector, launch monitor and software get the attention — but the screen is the part every ball hits. A good impact screen fabric must do four things at once:

Quiet impact

A dull thud, not a crack — kinder to family and neighbours.

Low rebound

The ball drops close to the screen instead of flying back at you.

Clear picture

A tight, even surface that keeps the image bright and sharp.

Long life

No tearing, sagging or ball marks after thousands of shots.

3-Layer 3D Mesh Structure

Why three layers beat a single sheet

Our premium fabrics are knitted as one piece with three working layers. The air layer in the middle is what absorbs the ball — something a single-layer fabric simply can’t do.

  • 1

    Face layer — projection surface

Fine, tightly knitted face gives an even, low-glare surface for a crisp image.

  • 2

    Spacer layer — impact absorption

Thousands of spacer yarns compress and spring back, soaking up ball energy and noise.

  • 3

    Back layer — strength

A dense back mesh holds the shape and stops tearing, stretching and ball bulge.

Premium 3-Layer Fabrics

Three fabrics, one standard

All three share the same 3-layer construction. Pick by color, fire safety and where the screen will be used.

Value Choice: single-layer screens

On a tight budget, or only hitting a few times a month? Our single-layer screens use the same factory quality and edge finishing in a lighter, wrinkle-resistant white fabric.

Edge Finishing Options

A screen fails at the edges first. Every screen gets a wide double-stitched hem (5 cm / 2″) with rust-resistant metal grommets every 30 cm (12″), so it stays flat and tight for years.

Folded Inner Hem

Clean folded inner hem with metal grommets for a neat, seamless look.

Edge Binding with Velcro

Standard Black Edge Binding

Durable black edge binding with metal grommets for secure installation.

Installation

From box to first swing

Our screens unroll flat and mount on any frame with bungees, ties or Velcro. Add black masking fabric around the screen for a clean, cinema-style bay.

Screen installation & hitting test

Unroll, hook the grommets onto the frame, tension evenly — then hit. Watch how little the ball rebounds.

Black masking fabric installation

Black side and top panels absorb stray light, hide the frame and protect walls from mishits.

FAQ

Golf impact screen fabric questions

What is the best fabric for a golf impact screen?

A multi-layer 3D mesh polyester fabric. The spacer layer absorbs ball energy and noise while the face layer keeps a smooth projection surface. Single-layer fabrics are cheaper but louder and bounce the ball back harder.

White or grey impact screen — which is better?

White gives the brightest image in a dark room. Grey improves contrast and black levels when there is ambient light, and pairs well with bright projectors.

Does gsm (fabric weight) matter?

Yes. Higher gsm generally means more yarn per square metre — better absorption, less noise and longer life. Our 3-layer fabrics range from 475 to 530 gsm; our single-layer options range from 275 to 410 gsm.

Do I need a fire-retardant screen?

For commercial venues it is often required by landlords, insurers or local codes. Every fabric except Type A is fire retardant — Type B and C in our 3-layer range, and all single-layer screens (Type D, E and F). Our FR 3D mesh passed NFPA 701:2023, Test Method 1, tested by SGS (Report No. SDFTS24000581R01); the full report is available on request.

Can you make custom sizes?

Yes — every screen is cut to order. Fabric width is up to 3 m in one piece and length up to 100 m. Send us your frame or room dimensions and we will calculate the right size, edge style and grommet spacing.

Can I get a fabric sample before ordering?

Yes. We can send swatches of our fabrics so you can feel the thickness and test the projection before you order. Contact us with your address and the types you want to compare.

What is the MOQ and lead time for wholesale orders?

Single custom screens and bulk wholesale / OEM orders are both welcome. MOQ and lead time depend on fabric, size and quantity — we confirm both in your quote, usually within 24 hours.
